Transformational Psychotherapy for Adults and Adolescents in the Heart of Manhattan
About me
I am a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist with extensive training from Yale and Columbia Universities and the founder of The Kimberly Center for Personality Development with Integrated Healing. With over two decades dedicated to the field, I and the skilled therapists I supervise, specialize in helping adults and adolescents navigate a wide array of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship conflicts, and personality issues leading to self-harming and self-sabotaging behaviors.
My extensive background includes academic roles such as Adjunct Professor of Applied Psychology at New York University and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at Columbia University Teachers College, as well as specialized training through a Psychotherapy Fellowship at the William Alanson White Institute of Psychoanalysis, Psychiatry, and Psychology. I was a clinical psychology extern at NYU-Bellevue Hospital’s Intensive Treatment of Personality Disorders clinic, a clinical psychology intern at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and a clinical psychologist at St. Luke ‘ s-Roosevelt Hospital Center (now Mt. Sinai West) for the Intensive Treatment of Personality Disorders.
What you can expect from me
My work is rooted in a profound belief in the human capacity for growth, transformation, and resilience, even in the face of enduring psychological pain.
As a psychologist, I bring not only academic and clinical training but also a commitment to understanding the whole person, not just a set of symptoms or diagnoses. My approach is largely relationally psychodynamic, but also integrative with a particular focus on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP). This means that our work together is shaped by who you are—your story, your values, your struggles, and your hopes for change.
Professional background
I have been privileged to work in some of the nation’s most respected academic and clinical settings, including NYU/Bellevue Hospital, St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center, and the William Alanson White Institute.
I have served as an expert witness in high-stakes forensic cases involving trauma and PTSD, taught and supervised graduate students and clinicians, and led intensive outpatient programs tailored to individuals facing the most challenging forms of psychological suffering.
As Director of The Kimberly Center, I lead a team of clinicians in providing comprehensive, trauma-informed care for adults and adolescents. We specialize in individual, group, and family therapy for people struggling with personality disorders, mood disturbances, identity concerns, and life transitions. My work is particularly focused on helping those who are coping with complex trauma, chronic depression, self-harming behaviors, suicidal ideation, and relationship difficulties.
In addition to clinical practice, I continue to publish in professional journals, offer supervision to emerging psychologists, and contribute to the evolving dialogue on mental health, diversity, and integrated healing.
Therapy tailored to your needs
At The Kimberly Center, we believe therapy should be as dynamic and unique as the person seeking it. Our approach is guided by best-in-class psychological science and grounded in a compassionate, individualized understanding of each patient. Whether you’re grappling with self-sabotage, emotional regulation issues, career stagnation, or intimacy challenges, our team will meet you with expertise, empathy, and a commitment to your success.
Therapeutic modalities offered include Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT), and Jungian and transpersonal interventions. We also provide psychological testing and evaluation when more in-depth diagnostic clarity is required. Our work is attachment-based, relational, and culturally sensitive—LGBTQ+ affirming and inclusive of all identities.
Whether you’re seeking symptom relief, a greater sense of life balance, or a deeper understanding of your emotional world, our goal is to help you not just manage, but thrive.
